When Things Go Wrong

There are 4 diagnostic files we typically request, depending on the situation:

  • System information file, created from the Windows System Information application, saved to file type .nfo

  • Application Event Log, created from the Windows Event Viewer, saved to file type .evt

  • StandOut DataViz error log (if any exists). The location of the log varies by application:

    • StandOut DataViz Author and Reader:

      • C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\StandOut DataViz\[Application]\error.log

    • StandOut DataViz Shared:

      • C:\Program Files\StandOut DataViz\DataViz Shared\error.log (if any exists)

If you send a diagnostic email to StandOut DataViz (by clicking on “details” in the error dialog), the error log and .nfo information gets included automatically.
